Trend notes for spring-summer 2017 from Pitti Bimbo

I’ve just returned from Florence, from the most influential children’s fashion fair Pitti Bimbo where almost 500 kids fashion and design brands showed how next spring-summer will look like. Here’s what to expect from cool little trendsetters.

1 . The new world of prints and motifs

Cartoon inspired patterns and prints is a trend that not only Desigual and Kenzo, but also cool smaller brands offer for next spring-summer season. Here are examples from Italian Leitmotiv and Cape.

2. Candy shop colors

Pretty pastels and candy shop colors is another tendency worth following! Italian Maghi e Maci and Trottolini and Latvian Paade Mode are supertastic examples of this trend. Especially Paade Mode with its delicate lace, tulle and crepe chiffon.

3 Unusual stripes

Stripes and summer are like synonyms, but next year’s stripes are a bit more witty than your usual blue-red-white ones. Italian Stella Jean and Turkish Mr.Uky show the way the stripes are supposed to be worn!

4. Urban couture

Black and white theme is also there, with a punk urban twist and metallic highlights. Inspired by grownups fashion and city life, Andorine from Portugal is the perfect examples of this trend.
