What’s trending in boyswear? Notes from Pitti Bimbo 87
Pitti Bimbo, the world’s top kids fashion trade show, gave a lot of insights to next year’s boyswear trends. Here are five unconventional brands (and their coolest SS19 styles) to dive into:
BARN OF MONKEYS
Quirky new brand from Portugal (this is their second spring-summer collection ever!). Totally organic, totally cool. They play with the shapes and textiles and always add a story to their collection.
GARDNER AND THE GANG
Goofy label with strong statement prints. The designer Kristin Nyström, originally from Sweden but who’s now based in Dubai, loves colors (and is famous for dressing boys in pink!). For next spring-summer Kristin has picked more earthly colors but especially cool graphics for boys.
Born in London (but established by an Italian designer Serena Di Scalzo), this label is a mix of British humor / extravaganza and Italian minimalism. SS19 collection is not an exception.
Organic easy-wear label from Netherlands famous for its unisex prints and styles. This time around they are more colorful than usual.
Infantium Victoria comes from Germany and offers high-end organic and vegan fashion for kids. Designers Julia Gaydina and Dinie van den Heuvel both have a long history in fashion and their sense of style is carried on to the brand. A lot of their styles are unisex and I cannot get over how cool is this modern tartan (suitable both for boys and girls)!
