TOP 5 children’s fashion trends from Riga Fashion Week
Riga Fashion Week made history this year by bringing kids fashion to their main catwalk (for the first time ever!). Three trend setting Latvian design labels – Paade Mode, Lazy Francis and Aristocrat Kids – presented their AW 2016/17 collections with stand out styles and amazing shows that brought unseen energy and joy to the fashion week and made you ask – why haven’t we seen children’s fashion at fashion weeks before?!
So what are the Latvian designers offering us for the coming season?
1. Oversized knits
It’s common that autumn brings us knits, but these are not some ordinary pieces. These oversized and funky knits are a candy for the eyes, and the good bit is that you can now borrow something from your daughter’s warderobe!
2. Fascinating prints and bold colors
From Charlie Chaplin inspired prints to creative geometrical patterns – Latvia designers sure don’t suffer from the lack of imagination! Plus don’t you just love these bold, bright color combinations!
3. Focus on overcoats
There weren’t so many overcoats in the shows, but the ones presented were real stand out pieces! Inspired by riding jackets and grownups world (shapeless big coats have been a huge trend in adults fashion) they brought cheerful carelessness to the catwalk.
4. Here comes the autumn sun
A dash (or more) of yellow and you can feel the summer sun’s warm hug also during winter.
5. Artsy headpieces
Meant more as show elements, these imaginative headpieces gave an extra wow-effect to these already amazing outfits and a more haute couture feel for children’s catwalk.
